Colorado-based producer and guitarist Logan Carey composes spacey, synthesizer-heavy instrumental music under the moniker Isohyte. The name Isohyte is derivative of the word “Isohyet,” a hydrological term used to describe points of equality of rainfall on a map. This concept reflects the imaginary equilibrium that Carey finds analogous to the symmetry manifested in the dynamics, rhythm, and melody of musical compositions.

Trained in guitar for over 15 years, Carey incorporates elements of his classical training in his innovative production of synthwave sounds stimulated by both the musical ecosystem of the ‘80s and current modern trends inspired by it. Carey heavily draws inspiration from artists Com Truise, Oneohtrix Point Never, and The Midnight. Blending orchestral, instrumentals, and choral pieces into his work, Carey is also heavily influenced by film score legends Vangelis, Hans Zimmer, Daniel Lopatin, and Daft Punk. Logan’s unexampled compositions can be categorized as a hybrid of chillwave, retrowave, and downtempo genres.

Carey has released his debut instrumental album entitled "View Finder." The album will represents a stream of subconsciousness experienced in the afterlife, emphasizing the constant battle with a past-self, harping on an unbalanced and passionate emotional state dampened with feelings of isolation and wistfulness. Carey intends to expand and broaden this memoir with a second EP “Intertidal,” which will be inspired by glossy beach themes of the '80s and avant-garde themes of the future.
Following "View Finder" Carey released a five track EP titled "In Flux" in 2023, that follows the representation of grief and the ever changing landscape of life. "In Flux" is a captivating synthwave journey that delves into the profound theme of change and transformation in life. With pulsating synthesizers, nostalgic melodies, and evocative rhythms, this album seamlessly merges futuristic sounds with a retro flair, transporting listeners to a realm where past and future coexist.
